The Association

The Association is a wonderful organisation doing remarkable things for women. Joanne is spooked by her initial reception and the opening ritual of the group, but is relieved when the women throw off their cloaks and begin a seemingly normal meeting about tea and recipes. But the group slowly reveal they are using their skills and talents to help “improve” the lives of all – and when they discover Joanne has the final ingredient to bring their major project to life, they are eager to win her over to their cause.

She was convicted for the murder of Louis Juncken, brother of her fiancé on 15 May 1894 and was suspected of killing her former husband and three children.

Super Jenny

Jenny loves mermaids, eating cake, dancing and learning about space from her best friend Ned. Jenny has a secret… she is really Super Jenny! Jenny’s Nanny told her that a super hero is someone who helps others, and Jenny helps her friends and family all the time, which makes her Super Jenny! But sometimes even super heroes need help. This short series of pre school children’s entertainment is engaging, fun and educational. Each episode incorporates fine and gross motor skills, Auslan sign language, shape recognition, singing, dancing and musical terms. Super Jenny encourages creativity, imaginative play and cognitive learning that goes hand in hand to enhance all children’s physical and intellectual development.

New mum Nadia is at crisis point and checks into the Head to Heath facility for some much needed respite. This new age facility provides free, around the clock mental healthcare as well as deluxe spa treatments, facials, yoga, cocktails and more… but is it all too good to be true?

Drawing upon real stories and interviews, this new work by Girls Act Good explores the often grotesque nature of mental health treatment for women through time, and aims to shine a light on women’s resilience in such circumstances, shedding shame and stigma for the future.


Super Jenny

La Mama Mobile Program increases reach, visibility and engagement with La Mama and the Independent Artists they work with, through touring, regional connection and community building. This program creates a pathway for remote and regional audiences to experience new and independent theatre and performance.

La Mama are thrilled to reignite La Mama for Kids – their dedicated program for children and young people. La Mama for Kids aims to provide opportunities for young people and children to express their creativity, as well as the chance to engage in performance and art specifically made for (and by) them.

Award winning actress and creative producer, Jennifer Monk, has adapted her online Super Jenny series (that was created and released during COVID) into a live touring show.

Super Jenny is a show for pre-school children that is entertaining, engaging, fun and educational. The show incorporates fine and gross motor skills, Auslan sign language, singing, dancing and musical terms. Super Jenny encourages creativity, imaginative play and cognitive learning that goes hand in hand to enhance all children’s physical and intellectual development.

This Super Jenny LIVE production will explore sustainability, mindfulness and coastal care themes through song, dance and play allowing for a young audience to learn while having fun and being entertained in a safe environment. This 30-minute show will encourage a family friendly environment and include musical instrument play and the option for a post-show photo opportunity with Super Jenny.

To Lonely, with love explores how people find themselves in isolation and how the art of letter writing can bring them out of their personal cells. Compared with posting your thoughts and feelings through the fleeting medium of Facebook, a letter takes thought and care, it has a journey, just like the people behind them. To Lonely, with love explores the lives behind the letters, they are honest, heartfelt and exposed. The stories and characters come from real letters, real people and are intertwined with established pop culture moments told through sassy, physical and musical interludes.


Ladies of the Bay

Ladies of the Bay is a fun, vivacious, new piece of theatre inspired by real stories. Over the summer Jennifer interviewed women from rural Victoria and Melbourne about their experiences growing up in the Australian summer.

Ladies of the Bay focuses on four women who are hanging out at the local caravan park. They have shared extreme tragedies but still manage to triumph from their experiences. Exploring private female moments including relationships, love, secrets, disasters and grief this show will take you laughing and crying back to your own summers. Sometimes all we have are the memories.
